Job Spring is a full-stack job portal with a Spring Boot backend and a React frontend. It supports authentication, role-based access control, notifications, interview scheduling, and chatbot support, with separate workflows for recruiters and job seekers.
Hiring platforms serve two audiences with opposite goals. Recruiters need to post, filter, and schedule efficiently; job seekers need to discover and apply with confidence. Both need secure, role-appropriate access to the same underlying data.
- 01
Model the domain
Designed the PostgreSQL schema around users, roles, jobs, applications, and interviews.
- 02
Secure API layer
Built REST APIs in Spring Boot with authentication and role-based access control separating recruiter and job-seeker capabilities.
- 03
Responsive frontend
Built the React + Vite client with Tailwind CSS and integrated it end to end with the API.
- 04
Verify every endpoint
Tested the API surface with Postman throughout development.
Role-based access
Distinct recruiter and job-seeker experiences with permissions enforced at the API.
Interview scheduling
Recruiters schedule interviews; candidates are notified automatically.
Notifications
Application status and interview updates delivered in-app.
Chatbot support
Built-in assistant to help users navigate the platform.
- A working end-to-end hiring platform with secure, role-based workflows.
- Clean separation between a Spring Boot API and a modern React client.
“Designing permissions early saved a lot of rework. Treating the API contract as the product boundary made frontend and backend work run in parallel.”
